I am… a junior engineer with AECOM in the DC metro area and I work on environmental remediation, compliance projects.
I chose Civil Engineering because… see the direct hands-on application of my work from design to implementation and I can use my engineering experience to solve problems and give back to the community.
I like my job because… my time is split between office and field where I get to solve complex problems, be creative and get practical field experience when working on-site.
I want others to know… I want to encourage future civil and environmental engineers by sharing what I do.
This is my story… I completed my MS in Civil and Environmental engineering from Carnegie Mellon University. Through my work, I have interacted with civil engineers who are diverse and have varied interests. Outside of work, I am involved with the local Engineers without Borders chapter, where I volunteer my time to work on drinking water projects for deserving communities and mentor student EWB chapters.
